I had not been at work much more than an hour when the weight and complexity of the numbers I had been pondering for several days overwhelmed me to the point of requiring escape! Out the door of Building 227, down the sidewalk bayward. I made up my mind to walk until the sidewalk ended – not all the way to the bay, as there wasn’t really time for that. Walk fast, as speed may somehow untangle the mass of confusion I had allowed to overtake my thinking. Or would it be something slower that would help? It stopped me in my tracks. A small, downy bird feather floating softly, quietly in slow motion through the air. Imagine that! What else could I think of, but Forrest Gump, who certainly knew how to appreciate such a special moment? It didn’t really untangle my brain, but the experience did calm the unwieldy thing down a tad! Nope, you never know what you’re gonna get!
